Kenneth Owens - U.S. Marine Corps

When the Marines needed some help on the mat, it came from Kenneth Owens, who was a finalist in the TSSAA State Championships for Nashville Antioch High School in 1990. During the Armed Forces Championships March 30-31, 2002, Quantico, Va., Owens defeated Isaac Wood in a 9-0 decision after two rounds in the 84-kilogram match, 1 point away from a technical superior score. Kenny is currently ranked No. 3 on the USA National Team at 84kg. /185.25 lbs. and sports an impressive International record. Kenny dec. Chael Sonnen, Eugene, Ore. (Dave Schultz WC), 4-0 in the 2002 US National Championships, Las Vegas, NV. for 3rd place on April 27, 2002. Born in 1971 in Nashville and he currently resides in Stafford, Virginia. His hobbies are singing, writing, poetry, painting and drawing. He and wife Arleen have one child.

Coach of the Month

Lee Fullhard - University of Tennessee Chattanooga

Lee Fullhart and Cael Sanderson

Lee Fullhart is an assistant coach at the Univ. of Tenn.-Chattanooga. He recently shared many of the skills he acquired while competing under Coach Dan Gable at the Univ. of Iowa during the technique session held in the UTC Wrestling Room in conjunction with the UTC Coaches Clinic held November 2nd. Following his college career, Fullhart was a 2000 Olympic alternate for the Sydney, Australia games and a 2002 World Team Alternate. He is a 1997 NCAA champion for Iowa and is currently ranked No. 2 at 84 kg/185 lbs. on the 2002-03 USA National team. His recent U.S. Competition Results: Second in 2002 World Team Trials...Second in 2002 U.S. Nationals... Fourth in 2001 World Team Trials... Third in 2000 U.S. Olympic Team Trials... Third in 2000-01 U.S. Nationals. Currently only Cael Sanderson (#1) stands in front of him in the US quest for the 2004 Olympic Gold. Fullhart is a 1999 graduate of the University of Iowa with a degree in Computer Science. Tennessee wrestling fans are really proud to have Coach Fullhart on our SE-Conference home team.
